A poster, on the wall of the tube, advertising John Lewis caught my eye. I like the simplicity of the design and that they've only used objects of one colour to create it. This is likely to provide inspiration for when I photograph my own collections.

Todd Mclellan
Todd Mclellan is a Canadian photographer, whose latest series is named 'Disassembly'. His work captures objects of the past in an exploded/ dismantled form. The way he re-arranges the parts in order of size, function and type etc, is meticulous and almost OCD-like.

These are some of the photos I took while trying to recreate Todd Mclellan's work. Firstly I dismantelled a digital camera, and then I hung the parts from pieces of thread to achieve the exploded look. I particularly like the stretched shadows created by the curved background.
Things Organised Neatly
The blog 'things organized neatly' was my main inspiration for choosing collecting and organising as a theme. I like the simplicity of the photography, but it also shows the obsessive nature of the photographers because the objects are often aligned perfectly/ obsessively at right angles and in interesting patterns. The blog also features related artists' work which will be useful sources of inspiration.
