Lisa Milroy is mostly known for painting everyday objects in the form of collections. She paints shoes, clothes and light bulbs in lines or grids.
I have taken photographs at the V&A and Natural history museums (London&Oxford), of objects very similar to those that Milroy studies. (such as insects, fragments of pottery and artefacts). And therefore I may create my own paintings from my photographs, in her style..
I like that she doesn't seem to fussy about what type of things she paints, it seems like she just has to paint everything she finds- after she's sorted them and put them in order.
She collects so many mundane objects, and lines them up in grids, that her behaviour/ art work could be considered obsessive.
